Cain's Amusements - Pier Arcade is a traditional seaside arcade in Herne Bay, with the sort of setup that keeps children busy far longer than you planned. Reviews mention plenty of 2p machines, ticket games and enough choice to fill a rainy or windy coastal hour very easily. The big plus here is simple, low-fuss fun. Families liked the friendly, helpful staff, the clean space and the fact that children could play on loads of machines. One parent said they meant to stay 30 minutes and ended up there for over three hours, which is either a triumph or a warning, depending on your point of view. There’s also parking directly opposite, and the beach is right outside if you need a reset. The downsides are what you’d expect from an arcade: it’s a coin-eater, and the reviews don’t mention any standout parent comforts such as decent coffee, proper seating or baby facilities. One reviewer also had a run-in with a temperamental 2p machine, which feels very on-brand for the genre. Great for a treat, less so if you’re hoping for calm, cushioned parenting.
