The long read worth saving for nap time
What’s it actually like?
Cobtree Manor Park is a well-kept country park with a main playground, open woods and a looped walk, plus enough grass for picnics, rounders and football. The play area is the star: a wooden castle-style setup with separate toddler and older child sections, slides, ropes and swings. Parents seem to appreciate the practical bits: cheap parking, clean toilets, plenty of benches and a café on site. There’s enough space for families to spread out without feeling on top of each other, and it sounds especially pleasant for a picnic or an easy wander after lunch. The main downside is that it’s not packed with toddler-specific kit, so the smallest children may find it a bit limited. Some of the park is hilly for novice cyclists, and dogs off leads were mentioned as a minor annoyance. Still, for a straightforward outdoor family day out, it looks reliably decent rather than flashy.
