Lovely for a wander, but don’t expect much beyond the view and a decent snack.

What’s it actually like?
Deal Seafront is exactly what it says on the tin: a traditional Kent seaside front with a pier, pebble beach, old Victorian character and long views along the coast. Reviews mention the unusual Brutalist pier, the neat row of houses, and that slightly time-warp feel parents often like more than children do. There’s plenty going for it if your family is happy with a simple walk and a snack. People praise the fish and chips, coffee, cakes and even the ice cream van, while the open seafront gives kids space to potter and older ones something a bit different to look at. It sounds especially good for a low-key wander rather than a planned “activity”. The downside is that it’s not exactly packed with entertainment. The beach is pebbly and steep in places, which is a faff for little legs, and one review notes the pier is in good condition but has nothing on it. Windy weather also seems to be part of the Deal experience, so bring layers and manage expectations.
