Genuinely brilliant if your children love machines; bring wellies, pound coins and moderate expectations for the café.
The long read worth saving for nap time
What’s it actually like?
Diggerland Kent is a construction-themed theme park where children and adults can get into real machinery, steer mini diggers and try ride-style attractions built around the digger theme. It sounds bonkers because it is, and that’s very much the point. The big win here is how different it feels. Reviews praise the friendly staff, the lack of soul-destroying queues, and the fact that there’s enough to keep both kids and adults busy for a full day. The standout attractions mentioned include Spindizzy, Skyshuttle, mini diggers, bobcats, dodgems and other hands-on machinery fun. It’s also described as clean, easy to navigate and good value overall. The niggles are mostly practical: some attractions need pound coins or tokens, the café is decent but not a highlight, and you’ll want to read age restrictions carefully so younger children don’t end up disappointed after a queue. It can get muddy, so wellies are a sensible move. In other words: a brilliant day out, but one that rewards a bit of planning.
Two-minute orientation
Quick read
Hands-on digger madness with proper rides, not just a novelty photo stop. Best for primary-age children, but tweens and grown-ups can have a laugh too. Expect mud, a few token extras, and a café that’s fine rather than fabulous.
