The long read worth saving for nap time
What’s it actually like?
Fort Fun sounds like a classic family-day-out spot that’s been through a reopening and is still finding its feet. The main draw is the play provision: three designated age areas, soft play, water activities, mini golf and a few rides aimed more at younger children. Several reviewers said it was clean and the staff were friendly, which always helps when you’re wrangling small people and snacks. For children, there’s plenty to keep them occupied for a decent chunk of the day. Toddlers and preschoolers seem to be the sweet spot, with enough variety to stop the usual “I’m bored” spiral. The water play and mini golf got genuine praise, and the space is described as good for burning off energy. It also sounds like there’s paid parking on site, which at least removes one small layer of parental misery. The downsides are the usual suspects: food quality is inconsistent, with one very unhappy review about hard paninis, tiny chips and dreadful freakshakes. A few practical bits also sound unfinished, including rides not working, hot indoor areas in summer, and no lockers or showers mentioned. Entry was also felt to be a bit pricey for a one-off visit, so this is more of a younger-kids treat than an all-day bargain.
