Brilliant for splashy fun, but the parking and changing rooms may test your zen.
The long read worth saving for nap time
What’s it actually like?
Splashpoint Leisure Centre is a modern seafront pool and gym in Worthing, with the sort of building that makes a council leisure centre look unexpectedly fancy. The big draw for families is the leisure pool side, which includes an indoor flume, a pirate ship, water shooters and a walk-in beach area for younger children. There’s also an outdoor paddling pool, which sounds much more appealing when the weather behaves itself. For kids, this is clearly the main event. Reviews mention it being brilliant fun, with plenty to keep a range of ages entertained, from little ones enjoying floaties and splash features to older children having a go in the bigger pool areas and diving boards. The pool views and bright, airy design also get a thumbs up, and staff come across as helpful and welcoming. The niggles are very parent-friendly ones: the online booking system has been called awful, the car park is small, and the changing rooms can be dirty and awkward when it’s busy. A couple of reviewers also mention the pool getting crowded at peak times, so this is not the place for a peaceful swim if you hate other people’s children doing cannonballs near you.
Two-minute orientation
Quick read
A seafront leisure centre with a proper fun side: flume, pirate ship, water shooters and a walk-in beach area. Also has a competition pool, gym and lessons, so it works for more than just a one-off splash. Parents should know the car park is small, the changing rooms can be grim when busy, and weekends get hectic.
