Surrey Sports Park

Surrey Sports Park is a large multi-sport complex rather than a soft-play style day out. Families mention swimming, climbing, squash, padel, hockey and a seriously well-equipped gym, with the pool getting particular praise for its size and the number of lanes available. The good bit is the sheer range of things to do. Parents liked the Olympic pool, climbing walls and sauna/steam room, while others praised the world-class astro turf and the general standard of the facilities. It sounds like a solid choice if your children are sporty or if you want one place that can handle different ages and interests without too much faffing. The downsides are the usual modern-sports-centre annoyances: parking fees, a café that may close early or be too busy, and limited seating at events. It also sounds better for independent, school-age children than for tiny ones, and if you are staying on site for a child’s climbing session you may end up standing around wondering what exactly you’re meant to do with yourself.
