Indoor soft play in Kent

Because sometimes the weather wins and you need somewhere with a ball pit and a decent flat white. There's a specific kind of November Saturday that Kent parents know well. It's raining sideways, the kids have been inside since Thursday, and someone's going to lose their mind if they don't run around soon. Soft play exists for exactly this Saturday. Kent has a genuinely good spread of soft play. The big ones — Gravity Active at Bluewater, Ninja Warrior Chatham, Gootopia in Maidstone — are proper days out in themselves. The smaller ones, like Oakie Doke's or Peekaboo Playhouse, are the kind of local gem you go back to every few weeks because the kids know every inch of it and you know which table has the best view of the coffee machine. A word on the smaller soft plays: they vary more than you'd think. Some are clean, well-staffed and have actually good coffee. Some are dated, understaffed and have a coffee machine that's been broken since 2019. We've rated them honestly on both the kids experience and the parents experience — because both matter. Filter by age if you've got a toddler — some of the bigger venues are genuinely overwhelming for under-3s, while the smaller dedicated toddler sessions are often much better for that age. Filter by distance if you're not willing to drive more than 20 minutes on a rainy Saturday. We don't blame you.
